A remanufactured laptop is a used laptop that has been returned to the manufacturer or a reputable third-party (repair) party for a complete and thorough overhaul so that it is once again completely up-to-date and ready for its next life. The remanufacturing process is very thorough and involves disassembling the laptop and testing and repairing or replacing all parts to ensure that the laptop functions like new again.
A refurbished laptop is also a used laptop that has been returned to the manufacturer or a third-party (repair) party to be refurbished. However, unlike remanufacturing, refurbishing does not always include disassembling the laptop and replacing all the parts. Instead, refurbishing means cleaning and repairing the laptop and only the defective parts are replaced.
